Return of the bad list

September 20, 2006 was the last time I had to update this list. Go ahead check your calendar I'll wait. We have another addition to the

F#ck-o List

F#ck-o list.....another addition

Backgournd and past additions to the list can be found here:
http://kevinsramblings.blogspot.com/2005/08/fk-o-list.html

Welcome to the list......Bank of America. Here's the story I paid my bill last month online, no big deal I do it all the time. Admittedly I screwed up a bit and paid the thing short by $3. The payment was completely on time aside from that and posted before the due date. The money was taken from my account on 6/2/09. I get a letter from the today dated 6/11/09 stating that I missed a payment. I knew I made the payment and went to go check the statement online. Yep I made the payment and it went through on the 2nd. Then I look at the statement from Bank of America and it shows the credit plus a late charge of $39. No the payment was not late, sure it was $3 light because I'm an idiot but in no way it was late. I give Bank of America a call and the guy admits that they should not of charged the $39 late charge sicne it was on time, albeit short by 300 pennies. Just for wasting my time Bank of America you've made it to the f#ck-o list. But in an unprecedented move I will be moving Washington Mutual off the list because they were bought by my current bank. Bank of America you're coming in at #5 on the list.

My personal f#ck-o list
1) Rockenbach Chevrolet
2) Craphole One a.k.a Capitol One
3) MBNA
4) TCF Express
5) Bank of America

Quick one

I was looking at this today and had seen I hadn't updated it in a while, so here's a quick and dirty update. I'm not dating the chick from the city any more. There was just some stuff not really too bbig of a deal but that's over. I sort of figured it would come to this sooner or later and it did. No big heartbreak I've moved on no big deal. Been shooting a lot of video for the campaign and just messing around with that. Have some things that will be put in motion as we draw closer to November 2010. Check out the campgain site by clicking on the link to the right.
Doing a Walk a Thon for Children's Memorial Hospital this weekend and then going to the Lou with v2 the weekend after that. Also stopping at the Lincoln Museum in Springfield and of course shooting some stuff at the capitol building. Then in July we're going to the Pro Football HOF and Pittsburgh to see the park there and two Pirate games. There is is a quick update bee good to each other and yourself.

Look at me...

blogging from the parking lot of Northbrook Court via cell phone waiting for City to show up. I guess they don't call me "The Technology Kid" for nothing. OK they've never called me "The Technology Kid" except when I gave that kid $1 to call me that. What the hell is with this weather. All is well with City except sometimes i have to say I really really suck.

What's up suckers?

Well I guess I can fill folks in more on my shenanigans since I'm actually doing more so naturally there's more to write about. This weekend went to City and she indulged my nerd tendencies and we saw Watchmen. Pretty decent movie but violent as hell, more then the actual comic. Then we went over to Goose Island to eat and it was packed with St Patrick's Day fools getting their drink on early. Goose Island has the fried pickles but they cut them different from Scotties. After we left there we we're going to go down to Molly's for the Ronnie B cupcake...but there was much drunkedness between us and there so we decided not to.
Sunday she headed up here so she could meet with some foks she use to work with. We hung out for a few hours did the Mills, it was hotter then the devil's armpit in there, and then went over to the Rollins Savanna and walked around there. Then she went over to mee the folks for dinner and that was that. Sunday there was potential for a disater. We stopped in Target to pick up some stuff and when we got there we went to the bathroom. I got done and though I should call v2 to see where they were because I know they usually go to Target on Sunday. Well they were at another store but still coming to Target. Luckily we got out in time so there was no uncomfortable run in at the Target. That would have been interesting and I'm glad it didn't happen because its way too soon to cross that bridge when we get there. All in all its still real good but I have pouty lip becuase she's going to Florida over Spring Break. Stay classy folks.

Yo!

Well well well its been a while hasn't it. I guess first off after testing the "dating waters" I've actually found a chick cool enough to hang out. How we met was a little bit of a kik in the nuts because I was not expecting it to work at all and figured it would be a bit of a goof. I signed up for six months and figured what the hell I'd give it a try and see what happens fully expecting nothing to come out of it. Well about 4 weeks into the deal and not much was happening so no big deal. Then we started emailing each other and then we met, for some reason I wasn't nervous was a first and it went better then I expected. Its now been a while and all is good so far she even hates the same things that I hate. Its a litte scary that a web site somehow links us two together but ah what the hell do I know? Because there is no way I would have met her any other way. I'm still pushing for a "how we met story" of me saving her in a fire. It might be a hard sell but that's what I'm pushing for.
Here's the basics and as always a little vague to protect the innocent or not so innocent, plus it needs to be because of her job. I'd like to say she's a spy but she's not but she's in a profession with certain internet savy people so we'll keep it vague. Basically: teacher, lives on the north side of Chicago, originally from Highland Park, went to ISU (we weren't there at the same time though), has indy rock cred, coffee nerd (there's a reason for this though), listens to NPR, and that's pretty much the basics. Oh and from this point forward she shall be referred to simply as "City". ALright that is about all for now until later dudes let's not ask a ton of questions and let this shit percolate for a while, deal?

Hey there.

Good things are happening folks. It's really almost scary how well it has been so far. Because I'm a bit of a fatalist I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I honestly don't see that happening any time soon. This is all I'm saying at this time and I will not be taking questions from reporters.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Well I haven't really been up to much. Going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week its sort of part of my regular routine now. Belive it or not I actually feel bad if I don't go. except on Tuesdyas becuase that's v2 dinner night. Met a chick a little while back so I'm just sort of seeing how this plays out. I think that is all that has been going on lately. Be good to each other.

Sorry no bad stories

Met a chick last night and sorry I don't have an disater story because it went pretty well I think.

The Whopper Virgins

OK I'm sure most of you have seen this new series of commercials for Burger King and there some hubbub about them on the internet. I have an issue that is not raised in the commercial....what happens to these indigenous people the next day when the Whopper and Big Mac go through these people's digestive systems. Can you imagine the bad doody that comes out since they aren't use to eating this stuff?

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Well well well...

The big news is that the governor of Illinois was charged by the feds today. I called it months ago so this is really no surprise. I will have a MAJOR announcement revolving around this issue in about 5 weeks. Keep an eyes right here and it will be official soon. This announcement was in process long before the arrests made today.

Things are coming together

I've got some solid ideas for the big introduction. Looks like another Illinois governor is going to get in some hot water...Way to go Blago! There is a better alternative because the state deserves better, just give it time.

There's someone getting ready to try out for the big league club pretty soon. This means that the 'stache won't be around for too much longer after the end of Movember. I can't be trying out ladies for the big league club with the Hogan 'stache still hanging around. I'll let folks know if anything noteworthy happens when it all goes down, I'm thinking it will probably be next weekend.

Have a safe Thanksgiving and remember all you have to be thankful for.

Movember Teaser Trailer

Hi All,
During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I'm growing a Moustache. That's right I'm bringing the Mo back because I'm passionate about tackling men's health issues and being proactive in the fight against prostate cancer. If you remember last year I found out about this charity on the first of Novmber and was clean shaven and had to go with the evil southern sheriff 'stache. Well this ear I was ready and believe me folks its not the standard run of the mill 'stache either......its the full on Hogan 'stache. I'll be posting a video next week sometime about how I came to the decision to go with the Hogan, it will have a special apperance by v2 in it too. To donate to my Mo you can either: Click this link https://www.movember.com/us/donate and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account,

--Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in the US with one in six American men developing the disease and more than 28,000 men dying of the disease every year.
--African American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer are twice as likely to develop the disease and should have regular annual testing starting at 45. All other men should commence testing at 50.
--Prostate cancer is 90% curable if detected and treated early. For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at: [ Fundraising Outcomes ].

I woke up this morning and that song form the Ipod Touch was going through my head....I have no idea why.

In other news the Hogan groundwork has been laid and now just needs more growing time. I'm putting together something this weekend in regards to this and will post it right here.

That is all for now, godd day.

That explains it

I knew I was pretty good at this, I actually say I'm pretty good a detecting BS they put it a little nicer......and prove it through science!

Rejection Fosters Intuition

Jeanna BrynerSenior WriterLiveScience.com

Rejection can make a person more intuitive. New research suggests individuals who have faced the cold shoulder can more easily spot phony people. The ability to spot a fabricated smile, exhibited by test subjects who had suffered rejection, could be a relic of our past, the researchers said. "This seems to be a skill we've acquired through evolution," said researcher Michael Bernstein, a doctoral student in social psychology at Miami University in Ohio. "Living in groups several hundreds of years ago was extremely important to survival. Being kicked out of the group was like death, so they became very good at reading facial expressions and social cues."
A similar, albeit perhaps less lethal, threat occurs when you get knocked out of a clique at school or in the office. In fact, past research has shown social exclusion can make a person cold, literally. And another study revealed that loneliness, at least in older adults, is linked with high blood pressure.
"People these days who are rejected are in a dangerous place because of evolutional pressure to find their way back into a group," Bernstein said.

Spot the fake
Bernstein and his colleagues, including MU psychologist Heather Claypool, studied this phenomenon in 32 individuals, about evenly split between men and women. The researchers had some individuals write about a time when they felt excluded or rejected, while others wrote about a time they felt accepted, and the control group just wrote about what happened yesterday.
Rejected stories included breaking up with a partner and not being called when your friends go out. A football player who had been injured wrote how he could no longer play and felt his football friends didn't associate with him as much.
The participants then watched 20 quick videos showing a person with either a fake or real smile.
The results showed that those primed to feel rejection distinguished the fake smiles nearly 80 percent of the time, compared with about 60 percent for the accepted and control individuals.

Smiling Eyes
Turns out, the eyes might hold the clues for bogus versus genuine smiles.
"We think that rejected people are probably looking harder at these faces, and they may actually be looking at better spots on the face," Bernstein told LiveScience. He added that rejected participants may have focused more on the smiling person's eyes.
"A real smile is not shown in the mouth; it's shown in the eyes," he said. "There are muscles around the eyes that are indicative of a real smile, whereas a fake smile just requires the mouth muscles."
The results were surprising to some of the researchers, who thought rejection would cause individuals to cling to any inkling of camaraderie. Rather, getting the boot from a group makes a person that much more savvy when it comes to entering another one.
"Some thought the subjects who had been rejected would latch on to any sign of positivity and accept the insincere smiles as genuine," Bernstein said. "But it's clear we're equipped with radar for identifying who is open to affiliation and who is not."
The research is detailed in the October issue of the journal Psychological Science.

Cause I have no life

Went to a show on Sunday night and saw this guy. Probably the most intense fan I've ever seen. He's a completely normal guy just a little wrapped up in the drama.

Just an FYI

Ginger Zee on Channel 5 news looks just as lovely in high definition.

This weekend

v2 said something that was so insightful about the world, for a kid his age, that it sort of shocked me. We were in the car and I forgot how it came up but he basically said that he noticed how women seem to "eat their own" to a certain point. He noticed how some women will put down another woman who they consider to be smarter, prettier, more successful, etc. and that guys don't really do that. I've never mentioned anything remotely close like this to him before and asked how he realized it. He said from watching what his mom does sometimes to other women. A woman will for sure shit talk another woman before a guy would shit talk another guy. So adults watch how you act and what you say around the kids because eventually they pick up on it.

My plan moving forward continues and you wouldn't believe the reasons I've got up against me.
