What's missing from this picture?

Orton: Man, I'm glad that Kevin had shoulder soreness and couldn't come out this year.

Grossman: You're happy? How do you think I feel?

I could totally rock that orange QB jersey.

Yep it happened again

Okay I’ve been called lots of things in the past few years, and yes I’m still the undisputed world heavyweight champion of love. I try and spread it wherever I go and when I’m not being a genuine smart ass, like I often times are on here. I’m pretty much try and spread the joy whoever I run into, I think that life in general is pretty grand.
When I did the fashion disaster dates before I got called “sweet” she said I was like Tony Robbins. I’m a big positive mental attitude guy and frankly Tony Robbins scares me a bit because he’s got a bit of the horse teeth. Anyway I tell you this story to tell you this one. This morning I’m on the internet date thing and there’s this lady on there and she’s absolutely adorable, real clean cut girl, attractive. She doesn’t want a dude with a kid and that’s all fine with me you know I understand. Its throws a wrench into things some times so it doesn’t really bother me when that’s the case. Being the WHCL (world heavyweight champion of love, come on follow me people) I sent her a little email, knowing full well she didn’t want a guy with a kid:

Good Morning,
I just have to tell you that you are adorable. That's all. Best wishes finding your match. Have a great weekend.

Then she sends this back a little while later:

Thank you, that's very sweet! Best of luck to you.

There it is again that “s” word. Being the WHCL just carries that stigma I guess.

One last thing

One last thing about my, I guess you could put it this way, option not being picked up. Well as some have said that everything seems to even out for me and well here's something good that happened today...well actually two things.

1) I was on the Ron & Fez show on XM radio 202 noon to three. Yep me and old Ronnie B shared a couple of moments

2) I did a dry run and once we move to Lincolnshire in late August I wil be able to ride The Beast down to work. Check it.

Well I think we've all learned a lot today and well........hit it band

You take the good, you take the bad,
you take them both and there you have
The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.
There's a time you got to go and show
You're growin' now you know about
The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

When the world never seems
to be livin up to your dreams
And suddenly you're finding out
the Facts of Life are all about you, you.
It takes a lot to get 'em right
When you're learning the Facts of Life. (learning the Facts of Life)
Learning the Facts of Life (learning the Facts of Life)
Learning the Facts of Life

Oh the humanity....

Well this chapter comes to a close. I got the kiss off email this morning from the time with the chick where I was dressed like an immigrant. Ah it was about what I had expected. Worst part of the entire deal? In the kiss off email I was called "sweet" and a "perfect gentleman". Next person that calls me "sweet" goes home with a black eye.

Look out now.

Potential disaters coming...details will follow if it turns into a train wreck. The ball is out of my court now.

All hope now lost for the season?

Yes the reports are true....I have some soreness in my right shoulder so I will not be heading to the Chicago Bears training camp today to fight for the starting quarterback job. I will still sign any of my Bears jerseys that you may have purchased in anticipation of my debut in the National Football League.

One last Friday date note

One thing I forgot to mention in my Firday wrap up post. Of course she asked about the "Rerun" license plates. I told her it was just a goofy nickname and its tied to the show "What's Happenin'", she actually said she liked that show. If that is indeed the case and not just a little white lie maybe the world is coming together because I've never heard a female admit to liking What's Happenin'. Just a note I did not do the standard Rerun dance move that I do. I can't pull that ace out of my sleeve too soon can I?

One more thing I found funny that I didn't post in my first date recap from the original one where I dressed like a idiot. When I told her I didn't drink she asked if I was a recovering alcoholic. I chuckled and admired her candor. She said she was a straight shooter and she wasn't lying. I'm only addicted to one thing........kicking ass..........and taking names.*

Just a reminder, go see the Dark Knight at the theater, don't wait for the DVD. The flick gave me goosebumps, seriously.

*Okay not really but it sounds bad ass doesn't it? If I ever write an action movie that will be the catch phrase of my hero.

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight at IMAX this morning at 9:00 was sold out, we got there about 7:50 and by the time it started there wasn't a empty seat in the house. Its taken the top spot in as the best comic book movie of all time. Okay here's a show of my nerdom, there were times in the movie where I actually got goosebumps. All I will say about the movie as not to ruin it for anyone is that Joker is creepy as hell, funny yet still creepy as hell.

Well here's post game wrap up

I met with the lady tonight after work for a little date action. It was a standard dinner/date affair you know nothing out of the ordinary. So you're probably wondering how your good old buddy Kev did aren't ya? Well as I've said before that I can never really tell but. Now the disclaimer this is just one side of the story she may have a totally different story. Go ahead now and place your bets as to whether it went well or not, I'll wait.

Okay the betting windows have closed.

I think I might have gone 2 for 2 with the lady. Admittedly there was very very slight nerves on my side maybe like 3% which is a good sign. Instead of appearring as a nervous Nelly I think on that front I did pretty well. The lady is pretty much confirmed as cool as hell and has her stuff together. I'm for sure going to give her another call see if she thought it went well enough for another round. I feel sorta like a little bitch because I wanted to break the 24 hour don't call rule because she pretty much rules. Check this out we were talking about flying and I said I always go into Passenger 57 mode when I get on a plane. She wasid something about always checking folks out and making sure there's no shenanigans going on. Then I told her an inner working of my mind where I don't like to sit with my back to the door. Then she said she's the same way and she was worried about when we got to the restaurant that she was sitting facing the door. So I guess we share that weird little sitting facing the door thing.

Last but probably most importantly she got some special treatment on the short ride from dinner to the movie place. Here is is, she got to steer the XM on the way to the theater. As those who know me I rule the XM with an iron fist and don't easily surreder control. I gave her a shot at the old remote and she did very well, so kudos to her on that front. Controlling the XM is a big deal and she did as well as one could expect, she had passed the inital trial with flying colors.

Just taking it slow right now and we'll see how stuff goes, just treated her like lady and I think I got my gentlemen groove back as it has not had a need to be in use for a while. I didn't even do a classic Beatles song to her but I wanted to, next time I guess.

One bad thing did happen before I got to the date. I was pulling into my florist to pick up a little something and right as I pulled into the lot the girl working there is literally pulling the little cord that turns the "OPEN" sign on and off. I had to go elsewhere to get some flowers but other then that there was no other issues. I went with yellow tulips it was an alright selection but I was a little peeved that I got shut out of my regular place. As I was driving there I was thinking "dang its hot these flowers may get screwed up in the car." Then I remembered that two cups in the car so I could set here up with a cup and water to put them in so they hopefully stay somewhat nice for a while. You might be wondering why did I have two plastic cups in my trunk? They were in there from when Nate and I did the Chilren's Memorial Hospital walk. I think that might be good karma coming back for rasing money for the hospital.

Well I guess this is about this for the wrap up, we'll have to wait and see what happens when I give her a call later this weekend. Tomorrow bright and early its The Dark Knight and then the Fire game at night, and calling her cause she's pretty kick ass.

Now if this goes bad ou can just laugh at me if this all goes south because I thought it went pretty well.

This weekend

Well Friday is a go with "fashion disaster", well see how it goes and if there are any notable things I will let ya know.

Her official code name is "fashion disaster" since I was one when we met the first time. My fashion disaster was even made more evident because she was dressed like an adult and I was dressed like an idiot. I won't be dressed like one this time...can't guarantee I won't act like one though.

Then Saturday The Dark Knight at 9:00am. Fire game that night.

Two tickets IMAX 9:00am Saturday morning the 19th. Word.

The Beast continues to grow

The Beast got its tags today but its not yet at full growl yet. Once it gets that I'll put together a little video and put it on you tube. Hopefully this week I can take it to get finalized for this summer....big bore is a possibility for next summer.

To be completely honest

about Wednesday night I didn't mention in the Ramblings that I was basically dressed like a clown because now at work we can wear shorts or jeans since we're moving pretty soon. Like I said before metting on Wednesday night came together pretty quickly and I figured well I might as well go now and meet this girl. The one error I made was when I woke up that morning and dressed like a clown. Basically I was wearing a Dutch national team jersey and some khaki shorts. Not a bad combo if I'm just kicking it around the house but far far far far from something I should be wearing to meet a fin young lady for the first time. Well I didn't exactly get ther with the khaki shorts I was originally wearing because as I left the house the button falls off the shorts. By the time I had left it was already late and I figured I had to run in and put something else on.....this is where the combo got even worse. How much worse you ask? Well to give it the full due here's a picture of it below because every person I've told about this since Wednesday night has not believed it and had a good little chuckle out of my terrible terrible clothing decision. This bad bad decision was made even worse because she actually was there dressed like a normal adult would be dressed and not like (someone called this ensemble) a immigrant. Let's remember that if I had gotten rolling 5 minutes earlier I could have averted this disaster, no need to adjust the color on your monitor just bask in it:
Bad huh? I dare say absolutely terrible. I must have somehow come over this obstacle during the time we were hanging out becuase we're going out again sometime in the near future. When I can overcome an ensemble like this during a date I must be doing something right becuase this is God awful. Just keep old Kev in your thoughts and pray that I have the common sense not to pull off something this terrible..especially when meeting a lady for the first time.

In regards to last nights post...

WIN.

I guess I did do alright. There's some stuff going on that needs to be taken care of but I go the thumbs up. Yeah kid.

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Wow who's the big winner tonight?

Kevin is. Kevin's the big winner. Kevin wins.

Okay some stuff moved real fast this afternoon in regards to this post. Things hit the ground running and something after work came together in about 2 hours this afternoon. So all I want to say about it now, if it was a DisataDate (trademark pending) I would bust it out here for your entertainment. Well I think it went pretty well and its all I'm going to say now, it went a lot better then I had expected because I didn't actually get as nervous as I usually would so I think I did pretty well. Here's how in tune (I think at least) we were, she had made joke about a certain character in a movie and I was thinking the exact same thing that she actually said. I didnt' expect it but hot damn it was pretty funny to hear her say it. Seriously I don't think for an initial things I don't think I could have asked for anything more. I will for sure be getting in contact with her again, hopefully I didn't scare her away, I don't think I did. If I did and this was an unforseen failure by me I'll be sure to let you know because acutally my own failures after a while are pretty funny. I don't think this is going to be one of those failures just yet I think I did pretty damn good but I guess the next time I talk to her will tell. The only possible thing I might have not been too good at was I might have talked a little too much, so if there is room for improvement that would be it.

I might be back, baby. Let's all hope I don't f this one up.
