"The Man" keeping me down again....

Well guess what another “realignment” at work. What does it mean for me? Well for all intents and purposes looks like I’m looking for a new gig. They gave us the talk yesterday and its was pretty much the same talk I got from R&R when they said they were taking the operation to Dayton Ohio. They are trying to break the job down into 3 different positions and I don’t want to be stuck doing any of the three things on a continual basis. GBC has screwed me from day one here and they continue to do it. I guess its time for me to fly. On the personal side things are moving and shaking....

Random ramblings

Is it just me of should no coffee be made in any office after noon?

When the traffic is backed up on the tollway why am I the only one who knows how to drive?

I bet you know a person who just loves to hear the sound of their own voice. Life sucks if you have to sit near one of those people.

When does the “son who gets stuff done” not officially the “son who gets stuff done”? I’m gunning for the moniker pal.

Does anyone care that the National Hockey League probably won’t have a season this year? Didn’t think so.

Interesting news item of the day

From the Chicago Tribune and the AP:

Man Nabbed for Allegedly Posing As Doctor
By Associated Press
Published October 6, 2004, 10:14 AM CDT

DALLAS -- A man arrested for allegedly posing as a doctor offered free gynecological services and set up an office in a self-storage complex, authorities said.

The room looked like a real medical office, with numerous pieces of medical equipment, said Bridget Eyler, an assistant district attorney for Dallas County. Three women who reported their visits to the man's office were reluctant to discuss details, the prosecutor's office said.
Thomas Patrick Remo, 50, remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of $7,500 bond on three counts of practicing medicine without a license. He used the names Dr. Jim Patrick and Dr. Brian Jones and his office was in Cedar Hill, Eyler said.

Responding to the advertisement for free medical care, an investigator posed as a patient and used a button camera to film an office visit. During the visit, Remo wore white pants and a white scrub shirt, and had a stethoscope around his neck. He allegedly told the undercover investigator that he obtained his medical education in Arizona.

Practicing medicine without a license is punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Kev's take: So you're telling me that the guy that says he's a proctologist and has his office in the back of the White Hen probably is not a real doctor? Wow I feel so cheated. How on earth do you make a self storage place look like an actual doctor's office....well we are talking about Texas I guess.

Courtney Love sued by L.A. travel agency

SANTA MONICA, California (AP) -- Rocker Courtney Love was sued Thursday by a travel agency that claims she ordered nearly $50,000 in airline tickets, but wouldn't pay.
The lawsuit says Love asked the company to book tickets, hotel reservations and other travel arrangements for herself, her family, agents and staff last year. She authorized payment to her credit card, but later withdrew authorization and sent checks, the lawsuit alleges.
One check was connected to a closed bank account and she allegedly canceled a second.
The firm, New Act Travel, in Los Angeles, seeks money for the tickets as well as service and bank charges, damages, court fees and $1,000 in excess baggage charges.
Calls to the company's attorney, Stephen Martin, were not immediately returned.
Howard Weitzman, a lawyer representing Love on civil and criminal cases, said he was unaware of the lawsuit and declined to comment.

Also Thursday, Love's trial on felony charges for illegal possession of painkillers was postponed to November 3.

In July, she was sentenced to 18 months in a drug rehabilitation program after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance. In New York City, she faces charges for allegedly striking a fan with a microphone stand at a club in March.
Love, the widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, was formerly the lead singer of the band Hole. She had to delay a concert tour with her new band this year because of her legal problems.

Kev's take: Well we know she'd never be sued for having good taste. Courtney Love another reason the world hates the United States.

Ahh the world is my oyster....

I was getting gas this morning at the local Thornton’s and they had a large sticker on the pump. The sticker proclaimed “Thornton’s aims to have the quickest pump flow in town.” I thought to myself, "Hmm interesting its good to have goals." Then it hit me I’ve go the world to conquer I can’t spend an extra 15 to 20 seconds every time I get gas waiting for it to fill up. I'm off to rule the world while you are waiting for those last drop of precious petrol to enter your tank. Ha Ha!! Slow pumps are for you fools that are filling up at BP, Citgo, Shell and other stations...I'm filling up at the fastest pumps in town, SUCKERS!!
